Alan Yates, Deputy Chief Executive of Accord Housing Association, attended the Investiture at Buckingham Palace today (Tuesday 5th November), where the Duke of Cambridge presented him with his OBE.

Alan was awarded the honour in June, as part the Queen’s Birthday Honours list, and today attended the official ceremony at the Palace to receive his award. 

After being presented with his OBE, Alan said: “I am delighted to have been recognised for my work both as a housing professional and a former tenant representative.”

Chris Handy, Chief Executive of Accord Housing said: “I’m delighted Alan is receiving the OBE for his outstanding commitment to housing and the green agenda. Alan is a true innovator and so much we do at Accord has been down to his dedication to our cause and the people we serve.”

This highly prestigious award has been bestowed on Alan in recognition of his dedication and ongoing work in the housing industry, in particular his commitment to providing affordable homes.
