Council Tax and Hardship Fund

Anyone living in Coventry who is finding it difficult to pay their Council Tax should contact the Council Tax Team to discuss alternative payment arrangements.

If you have been affected by coronavirus and you are concerned about making your Council Tax payments, you can visit Coventry’s COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and Council Tax page, call 024 7683 1111, or email counciltax@coventry.gov.uk. If you email, please put ‘COVID-19’ in the subject box.

Benefits support

You can contact Coventry’s benefits team for advice and support if your income has been affected by coronavirus – you can email benefits@coventry.gov.uk, telephone 024 7683 1800, or access the following website visiting our Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support page.

Support grants or crisis awards

To find out if you can access a Community Support grant or a Crisis Award. Email DGATeam@coventry.gov.uk or call 024 7683 3773.

Independent benefits and debt advice

Coventry Independent Advice Service continues to provide free benefits and debt advice to Coventry residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic. Advice and support is now available via an online enquiry form.

They are also introducing a ‘live chat’ option on their website. Visit their website for details of how to make contact.

Coventry Law Centre – supporting people with benefits problems

The Coventry Law Centre is providing extra help to Coventry Council to provide advice on benefits issues due to the circumstances people are facing because of the coronavirus outbreak.
