Home Care Assistants

£6.22 per hour

18 hours per week.

working between the hours of 7.00am-12.00pm on a rota basis to include weekends and bank holidays

MAIN TASKS

To work within the philosophies of Extra Care Housing, adhering to Accord’s policies and procedures at all times.

To support service users in all aspects of daily living including delivering personal care, meal preparation, dressing etc.), promoting their independence and decision making to the maximum potential.

To provide care and support as identified in individual care plans and acting as key worker to allocated tenants.

To initiate and encourage participation in social activities within the scheme and in the local community.

To ensure that service users well-being is monitored and any concerns are raised with the appropriate persons in a timely manner, with appropriate follow up actions being taken.

To be aware of health and safety issues for service users, self and others, paying prompt attention to all safety requirements with particular regard to fire precautions, fire drills and hazards reporting any concerns to appropriate persons.

To maintain confidentiality of all records and information relating to service users/staff in accordance with Accord’s Confidentiality Policy.

To communicate effectively with other team members, and carry out duties in a team spirited capacity.

To participate in training appropriate to the post, attending staff meetings, supervision and appraisals as required.

Any other tasks or duties as reasonably required in connection with the post.
