Day care for older adults

“Individualised support, meaningful activity and social opportunities to meet the needs of our older people.”

Happy older ladyFor those able to live in their own homes or with family, we understand it can be difficult to find the right level of mental stimulation and support, particularly for those with dementia or mobility issues.

All older people’s services provided by the Accord Group focus on keeping people as independent and active as possible. Our day centres help to bridge the gap between living in own homes and residential homes, offering activities, learning opportunities and an improved social life. Each of our three centres engage older people in their local community, providing places to relax, socialise and learn new skills. Regular meetings are also held at our centres with service users, giving them a voice in how each centre is run and what activities are offered.

Run by qualified, dedicated and experienced staff, our day centres provide a wide range of activities suitable for varied interests, from art therapy and keep fit to bingo and trips away. Freshly cooked, nutritionally balanced and delicious meals are provided, with individual dietary, religious and cultural needs all catered for. Personal care services such as chiropody and hairdressing are also available at additional cost at some centres.

The Accord Group values the importance of the health and well-being of all of our service users and therefore actively encourage appointments with health professionals to be held at the day centre if this best suits the service user. Alternatively, our services users are welcome to arrange for GPs, district nurses, chiropodists or other professionals to visit them at the scheme and a private room will be made available. Support or assistance in making appointments is also readily available.
